







Obituary of Donald Larson
Donald Larson, 97, of Lakewood, passed away May 21st 2023.
Don was born and raised in Colorado. Graduating from Colorado Springs High School in 1943, he, like the rest of the “Greatest Generation” soon found himself in the Army. Trained as pilot, he was one of the first to go to CU on the GI Bill. He graduated with a business degree from DU. Don married JoAnn Johnson in 1958 and they were married 65 years.
Don owned numerous businesses over his career. He started out with an Appliance Store and retired with a Telephone Equipment/Services business. He was he first person to bring the telephone answering machine to Denver. Don was involved in numerous civic organizations: Old Goats, Foot Printers, Old Farts, Wednesday Morning Singers. He belonged to Toastmasters for close to 50 years. His Rocky Mountain Toastmaster Club was his second family.
Don is survived by wife, JoAnn; Sons: Eric (Lori), Neil (Dana), and Lee as well as his four Grandsons: Ethan (Amanda), Sten (Jess), Zane (Zoe), and Tor.
